Dry age-related macular degeneration (dry AMD) is a common, slow-progressing eye condition where the macula thins, causing gradual central vision loss, often affecting both eyes. It occurs when yellow deposits called drusen build up under the retina, causing the macula to break down over time. These look like clumps of yellow spots on the retina where the drusen has accumilated.
