Arthroscopy of the Hip Joint

Labral tears can result in pain and stiffness of the hip joint and this illustration is showing surgery being performed to smooth the area called labral arthroscopy. Labral tears may be addressed with either repair of the labral tissue using suture or debridement or removal of a small portion of the labrum, depending on the type of tear and on the patient’s age.
